The Master Builders

God’s First Anointing of Wisdom

All right, so the answer is a surprise, and it’s a surprise on purpose.

It’s Bezalel and Oholiab.

I’m going to explain why.

Three Reasons God Gave Them Wisdom

Reason #1: Building the Tabernacle

God gave them wisdom to build out the tabernacle. Tough thing. To demonstrate the very heart and lesson of His purpose.

He gave them understanding and skill and craft for work with their hands.

Reason #2: Training Ten Thousand Workers

These two people were then given the power to train 10,000 other workers. Artisans, craftsmen, methodology, sewing.

Well, in my world, also organized.

Organize, coordinate.

There’s a lot of strong personalities when you got all those skilled people. And some of them are women.

Isn’t that weird?

Sounds complicated.

It really does.

Brother Hyles would say most people have a number on their head, like a maximum. Like, dude, I can handle 12 people and I freak out anything over 12.

The number is 10,000.

They trained 10,000 staff to handle all these departments. Coordinating, organizing, very important.

Reason #3: Respecting Capacity and Teamwork

But this third one is kind of weird, and I figured it out until a couple years later.

Why didn’t God just give it to Moses?

Because God knows that everybody has a stress capacity. Everybody on the team.

So I love the concept of teamwork, coordinate. It kind of blends over with number two.

The Teaching Model

I think like if it were today, it would be Bezalel and Oholiab taking turns teaching the class. You get the Bezalel version, then you get the Oholiab version, and they’re like, okay, now we get it, now we’ll do it.

And they would go out. You know, it was a show and tell.

And then like, okay, I’m involved in a project down here.

Well, Moses is not, because He easily did the day-to-day with the people. With people problems.

Amen.

So Moses needed to deal with the people problems. They were building projects. They were builders.

So wisdom went out through their fingertips.

The First Use of Wisdom

I want you to notice that the very first use of wisdom was directly towards physical growth of buildings and structures and tapestries.

And it was very construction-oriented.

Key Takeaway: God’s first recorded gift of wisdom wasn’t just for spiritual insight. It was for skilled hands, organized leadership, and building something beautiful for His glory.
