Cohesion

Building Kingdom Teams That Work Together Without Pulling Hair

Number number next one, as a pastor used to say. Where are we at?

We’re at the number number next one.

All right, here we go.

I believe the God is the author of clarity, distinction, and occasionally simplicity, actually simultaneously simplicity and glorious depth, many splendored, many pages, 1,300 page book He wrote.

Hmm.

So, yes, it’s true that God puts a leader in the lead.

And yes, there was a Moses.

But Moses overburdened himself. And he got to the point where his father in law had to tell him, man, you need to, you got to grow a team.

You got to get some more, you’re going to wear yourself out, son.

So it seems that a team really is helpful.

I mean, proper spouse can be so helpful, the cohesion of an assembly.

And so point number two is that we need more than one person right from the beginning.

You know, collaboration is glorious.

By this, shall all men know that you’re my disciples if two of you can work together on any project in harmony without pulling hair and saying bad words.

Yeah, the oil of the Holy Ghost reducing friction where two brothers or sisters and the Lord can work together to build out anything amazing.

So, you know, there’s one thing to cast the vision, and there’s another thing to invite somebody to the team and say, hey, God and I would like to invite you to join our crew so that we can do this together.

For the glory of God and the good of others, reaching our community, I’d like you to see if this is the right opportunity for your ministry skills, your gifts, your talents, your energy, your time, so that you can feel maximally useful to God, get rewards.

I’d love your contribution, your collaboration.

Just really want to have you on the team because I’m just one slice of pizza. I can only contribute so much value to anything that gets built.

We need an organizer. I’m not the organizer.

Okay, I’m the spaghetti thrower. I throw splatter at the wall and then I attract around me people who love to solve puzzles and put things away and organize and sequence and systemize and one, two, three, boom, boom, boom.

Anyway, that’s just an illustration.

So the second thought is, so we have editors, we have designers, we have layout people, but really when it comes to content production, like conversation capture, that needs to be a team effort from day one, from the first sentence.

I’m going to send this clip and I’m going to go to number three.
