All right, I’m going to read some quotes, some encouraging things that we heard from this weekend. These will be a blessing to you. Here we go now.
If you like them, hit the little, we like comments. Comments and questions are amazing. If you can comment, that’d be great. If you can tap the heart, that’d be great. If you can share the live, that would be amazing. Here we go now.
Are you ready?
It’d be good if you get a pen and a paper because some of these quotes are going to be good. They’re going to be straight fire. They’re not Scripture, but it’s really good wisdom. You ready?
To reach billions, we need to believe in trillions.
It’s going to take a lot of resources to reach the world. You can’t. Obviously, you cannot. That was the entire exercise. You can’t do it alone. But however, with God and with the right helpers, we can.
We can. We can do what you cannot do alone.
The great commission of reaching the world was never designed to be accomplished by just you.
Rome, the religion of Rome, provides no durable anchor of the soul. Jesus is the anchor of our soul. Rome provides no durable anchor.
If you have no enemies, did you even get out of bed?
If no one is opposing you, if no one is against your truth, then is it genuine truth?
Our mission is His mission, right? Should not our mission match the mission of God?
By the way, God doesn’t believe in your inability to mature. He believes that it’s possible for you to mature, right? Do you feel like you’re growing? Are you stretching? Are you learning? Is it painful? Are you reaching the next level?
Massive money without ministry is meaningless.
You can have millions, but if you don’t have ministry, you’ll feel hollow. You’ll feel shallow. You’ll feel purposeless. You’ll feel useless. You’ll be fat and full of nothing.
Why would anyone want the spirit that you’re carrying around? Is your spirit magnetic? Do you have the spirit of Christ?
You have full freedom to do right.
That means you have the fullest measure of freedom when you’ve decided to do right because deciding to do wrong puts yourself into a box of consequences. Whereas freedom is the power to choose right, to remain free.
You cannot possibly love the unlovable. God has to do that through you.
Have you ever met somebody that is unlovable? You cannot possibly love the unlovable. God has to do that through you. Amen?
Faith is by reception. So what are you tuning into? What are you listening to?
Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. What are you receiving into your spirit? Are you filling your spirit with just a bunch of what? A bunch of social media, a bunch of lives that are not elevating and honoring God?
Consider God’s opinion on some key matters today, like deeply ponder what is God’s opinion.
Obedience is not a feeling. Obedience should be immediate action with a good attitude.
Obedience is not a feeling.
Carve out a major part of your calendar devoted to God.
If you want to know whether someone genuinely loves God, look at their calendar. And my investing reveals my heartbeat for God and others. If you genuinely love someone, you will spend energy, time and resources to demonstrate that love.
Carve out a major part of your calendar devoted to God. I already said that, but I want to say it again.
There are three main subjects in Scripture. This is a bit of a dad joke, if you like dad jokes. But there are three main subjects in Scripture.
Number one is God. Number two is me and you. Number three is how to get along.
See it? How to get along. Because people don’t naturally thank you.
Wow, we’re getting a lot of people chiming in.
So there are three main subjects in Scripture. Number one is God. Number two is me and you. And number three is how to get along.
Why does it seem hard for us to get along with God? And why does it seem difficult for us to get along with each other? Right? Maybe the Bible is just trying to teach us how to get along with people and how to get along with God.
This next one’s really good. I don’t know if you have a pen and paper handy. You can write these down. You can still comment.
Adam was given a rule. Don’t eat. And a relationship.
And when the relationship was broken, then the rule was broken.
Did you get that? It’s backward. When the relationship was broken, then the rule was broken. So the first thing that broke in the Bible was a relationship.
If Eve or Adam had been fully depending on God, fully plugged into the relationship, fully connected, fully relying, they would not have pulled away from the relationship.
All sin is outside the boundaries of proper relationship.
Wow. All sin is outside the boundaries of proper relationship. That’s pretty good. Do you have a proper relationship? Satan’s going to hate it. Your flesh is not going to like it. The world is going to ridicule you, but you got to keep that proper relationship together.
Giving up is wiser than giving down.
You’re going to give something to somebody. Giving up your will.
Here, I got a better quote. Give up something you want to God. See what He does with it.
Right? Pick something that you want and give it up to God and see what He does with it. Have any of you done that? Have you wanted something desperately in life and you’re just like, God, I surrender that. I give this dream. I give this career. I give this relationship up to you because giving up is better than giving down.
Thinking soberly means getting a real good idea of why God wants you alive in this world at this time.
Why does God want you alive in this world at this time? You ever thought about that?
Bible says, be sober, be vigilant for your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, seeketh whom he may devour.
Jesus is eternal life. Eternal life is only available through a person named Jesus.
Some have spiritual gifts of giving. Others have the gift of organizing and administrating. Right? Ever met somebody with that? Some have the gift of service while smiling. And a few get to proclaim passionately. That’s their gift.
One purpose of all these unique spiritual gifts is so that we learn how to relate with our teammates.
Do you have teammates in the Gospel? Is anyone attracted to your team? Are you attracting people to Jesus?
If you said, can you name five people that are on your team of Gospel givers? See these right here, the Gospel givers, if you said it’s me plus five that are in the ministry together, and those five people are probably going to have different spiritual gifts than you do. And that’s because God loves cohesion. God loves teamwork. God likes people working together and getting along. Amen?
Does God want you to get along with your teammates or does He want you bickering and fighting and acid and accusing and punching and just arguing all the time?
Now think about the five people that you work with in the ministry. Who’s your first one? Who are your five people that you work with in the ministry of giving out the Gospel? Can you list off a couple? And what are their gifts? What are their spiritual gifts?
No one is 100% negative, meaning no positive traits. I’m going somewhere. I’m just typing it out.
We should both abhor the evil while also finding power by praising others in their progress.
So there’s power in praise. When somebody makes slight advancement, slight maturity, we should recognize and praise them for growing and developing and reaching the next level.
Is it possible? Can you believe that God can transform even the most hopeless case? Have you ever met a hopeless case? Have you ever looked in the mirror?
Do you think God has transformed you? Has He brought you to a new level of maturity? Are you more mature this year than last year?
Slothful people really sap the strength out of any organization that they’re a part of. Ever been around a lazy person and they’ve been on your team and they drain the team?
Slothful people sap the strength out of any organization that they’re a part of.
God’s business requires excellence and diligence.
Most things can be handled properly or resolved through diligence, right? Hard work fixes most things.
Lazy people do not have deep relationships.
Have you found that to be true? Lazy people do not have deep, abiding, durable relationships.
We should rejoice. The Bible says in Romans 12, rejoice. Rejoicing in hope. This means rejoicing not in what people are today, but who they will become tomorrow.
Can you believe in the best for others? Does anyone on your team believe in you? Are you growing? Are you leveling up? Are you becoming mature? Are you now a better minister? Are you a servant? Are you serving with vigor and enthusiasm?
People who work hard are more blessed in their relationships.
These are just quotes that we heard today.
Rejoicing in hope is believing that God can, that God desires to, and that God is now working towards transforming someone who may be seemingly hopeless into the fullness of the stature of the image of Christ.
We need to give God permission to do His work in others. Give Him space, right? Has God done any work in your life? Was it overnight or did it take a while? Do you grow gradually or do you grow instantly 12 feet tall?
Often the goal is nearer than it seems to a faint and faltering man. Often the struggler has given up when he might have captured the victor’s cup. He has learned too late, when the night came down, how close he was to the golden crown.
Success. His failure turned inside out the silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are, it may be quite near when it seems so far, so stick to the fight when your heart is hit, it’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.
Anybody recognize that poem? It’s a good poem.
Maybe God is calling quitters to quit their quitting.
All right, we were reading Hebrews chapter 10 because somebody was asking about the eternality of salvation and whether God, the King James, is accurate. You have to trust God.
So your nature, the question is, is the Bible accurate? So what we don’t want to do is attack the nature of God. We don’t want to accuse God of being impure, improper, bad communicator, corruptible, distorted, disdained.
Now, is the Bible God? No. But does the Bible reflect much of the nature of God? Is the Bible how we get to know God? Is the Bible God’s dictionary definition of Himself? Is Scripture pure? Is God pure? Is God the author of the Bible? Can God make mistakes? Is the Bible corrupted?
Or is the Bible preserved.
Is God able to do something clean and pure and right and good?
You have to trust the Bible. Otherwise, you can’t trust God.
If I twist and pervert and distort and remove and edit and change the Bible, I will do the exact same thing to God.
Just leave the Bible alone.
I am a child. I’m only here a couple years and I’m gone. I’m like a wisp in the wind. I’m like a withering leaf or a blade of grass. I should not get here on earth and think that somehow I can change what God says cannot change.
Either the Bible stands like a rock undaunted mid the raging storms of time. Its pages burn with the truth eternal and they glow with the light sublime.
Either the Bible is solid or God is a fluffy marshmallow bunny.
You have to find a place to rest your faith and confidence, and it must be in not just the Scripture, but in the God of Scripture.
Stop changing God. Stop adding water to make God more sugary. God does not need sugar. God does not need frosting. God does not need kindergarten-level comprehension.
We need to elevate our comprehension to let God be true and every man a liar.
Just let God be God. Amen. Thank you.
All right, so we’re reading Hebrews chapter 10.
