Let’s spell out the gospel.
G God
O Option
S Sin
P Penalty
E Eternal Life 🆚
L Lake of Fire
God knows people are sinful.
People are invited to acknowledge their sin.
The results and reward of sin is death.
Beyond death, eternal separation from God in the lake of fire is what sinners properly earned.
Or … the other option is eternal life through believing on the Son.
What should we believe about the Son?
The Son of God is God humbling Himself to put on skin and live among us. Imagine God experiencing pain and tiredness inside a human body.
The Son was sent to seek and to save that which was lost, according to God‘s plan.
Except God Himself enters into the equation, the equation cannot be otherwise solved.
The Son of God is the solution to mankind’s sinful state and our final deserved destination of separation.
We should consider believing that the Son is motivated by pure love, as expressed by dying through a most excruciating process, taking upon Himself our rightful punishment.
God provided one option to solve the sin problem … which brings death and the second death in the lake of fire. That singular solution was sending His Son to be our substitute.
The Son must be sinless.
The Son must be a willing sacrifice.
The Son must have power to rise triumphant after paying the penalty, proving the payment-in-full is accepted by the Judge.
God freely offers the option.
God invites everyone to consider.
God desires all people to choose the Son.
God wants all men and women everywhere to understand God‘s plan of salvation.
The only escape is through the Son.
The singular rescue plan is Jesus.
The sin penalty is otherwise unavoidable.
We cannot stop ourselves from aging.
We cannot prevent our decline into the grave.
We cannot stop the process of progress toward a known future.
Time stands still for no one.
Death surely arrives on schedule.
Death divides.
Death is simply separation.
Our body becomes separated from our soul.
Our soul and spirit live on, somewhere:
Option one is Hell apart from God.
Option two is eternal life with God.
Only the Son makes the difference.
I am responsible to choose one option.
I am offered a clear explanation of both choices.
Option one is trusting myself.
Option two is trusting God‘s Son.
There is no third option.
God invites us to evaluate both options on the table.
On the left side of this table is my sin and it’s matching penalty. The reward for unrighteousness is separation from God in the lake of fire for ever in torments.
On the right side of this table is God’s Son and His matching reward. The reward for choosing righteousness is union with God in His presence for ever in exceeding fullness of joy.
Now I choose.
Option one looks easy and fun.
Option two looks tougher and serious.
God offers people an option.
