Giving back gifts. It’s a trend right after Christmas. All the gift receipts. People take back gifts. We’re not talking about that. We’re talking about giving back to God the gifts that He first gave to us. God gifted me with oxygen in this moment. I was gifted with alertness to wake up. I was gifted with intellectual processing capacity today. And, I was hugely gifted with time. Most frequently time is undervalued. And therefore squandered. Used for self. Not used for God.
How do I gift the gift of time back to the giver of time? Well that’s a great question right?
Number one recognize the Giver.
God originated time.
In the beginning… God. Before the beginning… God. After the beginning… God.
In this moment in the linear string between the beginning and the ending, God is present. And, He is simultaneously the ending. He is both the First Letter and the Last Letter and He’s every letter in between. God is the very spark of initiation at the onset of any adventure, and yet He simultaneously dwells at the conclusion of the matter when the season of learning has been fully filled to maximum benefit and blessing and purpose. God is present every moment along the way of today.
Time belongs to God. Yes He’s put it in my care, but I should be most insidious which means astute and diligent and careful to redirect time for maximum value to benefit God.
How can we benefit God? “Glory” is the primary word which is a spiritual connotation. The word glory makes very little sense to the human mind. We think of glow. We think of brightness. But, we cannot fully comprehend the concept of glory apart from using or borrowing the spiritual mind of Christ to assist us in fully elucidating, the purpose of luminescence that becomes the glory of God. The super ultra distilled simplified version is actions that bring glory to God, also bring good to others. Because, as we lift up the glow of God and increase His brilliance, thereby, we alert the attentiveness of others nearby to consider the power of His excellence and thereby increase and improve the opinion of God, as held by others near to us.
Give time to God. What does it mean though? It means to allow God’s space to unfold and fill up and expand and become everything that He is for this moment. Because any moment spent apart from God is a for taste of eternal separation from Him. That’s the very definition of Hell once filled.
Give time to God. Time, including God, inviting God, welcoming God, believing God, loving God, depending on God, partnering with God and performing the action that bests those around us is improving the brilliance of the wattage of His glory. We’re moving from a 40 W bulb to a 60 W bulb to a 100 W bulb and above.
But why? There’s something so repulsive to our human nature to give glory to God. Why does He deserve it? It sounds prideful. Yet when God elevates Himself, it’s only for the good of other others. If it were easy, everyone would naturally enjoy the process. But it’s supernatural and so it cannot be that easy.
For the glory of God and the good of others. How should my time be used? There it is.
