24 hours without the Gospel
Can we make it? How long could we endure without oxygen? Couple minutes. World record is somewhere north of 11 minutes with special techniques and saturated oxygen intake right before being submerged.
Did we allow a full 24 hours to pass us by … without the Gospel?
How could that happen? Well, lots of things happen without intention.
Living a Gospel-centric life is intentional. We get to bring the gospel with us throughout the day, into every interaction.
Did we speak of Christ today? Or help someone gain a clearer understanding of one part of the gospel. I want to. I really do want to carry Christ with me to everyone along today’s journey. What a delight to bring the Light of the world into at least one conversation today.
Let’s endeavor together to include Christ in one conversation tomorrow. Make tomorrow the day we start, since today is far past. Our new-day’s resolution will be intentionality. Intending to be so overflowing with mindfulness, meditating on the power of the Gospel, the goodness of the good news, that it bursts forth into natural conversation just like we are casually noticing the weather.
How many days have I let pass me by without including the Gospel of God?
May this day and each day forward be a Gospel-giving day!
For what purpose did God grant me another day on this planet instead of calling me home to the next level … if not to transmit the truth of the glowing Gospel to at least one hungry human today, right? Right.
All that matters 100 years from now is where we live. With God in Heaven or without Him in Hell.
Our location matters. Our decision carries strong impact. Talk about a monumental real estate acquisition: I acquire my rightful place in the Lake of Fire, or receive my gifted place in the presence of God.
Let us determine right now to not allow another 24 to pass us by without passing on and passing out the abundant goodness in the uncontainable container of the Gospel. Let Him spill out all over.
Who else in history made a choice to not let 24 slip through the floor without a concerted effort to broadcast the everlasting message of rescue?
“And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ” Acts 5:42.
“Shew forth His salvation from day to day” Psalm 96:2.
“Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day His salvation” I Cor 16:23.
We talk about what we think about. Our thinking is our responsibility. We can focus on the gospel, sense and bask in the glow thereof. Enjoy the Saviour. Share the joy. Be saved. Then share the experience. Recognize our secure and undeserved position of safety … then extend a hand of welcome to those wandering in the cold, bleak world of death. Let’s ask God to help us participate in introducing lost folks to the finder of lost sheep. Let our purpose mirror His purpose.
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” Luke 19:10.
